In WA, to transfer a vehicle licence from a deceased estate, you need to complete a Declaration of Deceased Estate (Form E172) and it cannot be done online. The executor may also need a Grant of Probate from the Supreme Court of Western Australia. Please call us first, so we can confirm exactly what we’ll need to see.

Will you buy a car that has a finance owing on it?

If a car is financed by a lender, the lender will register its security interest on the Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR) and this interest stays with the car until the loan is paid off. Please ring your lender for a payout figure before you sell and tell us about the finance when you call. We will let you know if we can proceed and how the payout would have to be handled. We cannot buy any car that is financed.
